MONROE® QUICK-STRUT® ASSEMBLIES COMING TO LIGHT-TRUCK/SUV CATEGORY

Las Vegas, NV, Nov. 4, 2008 – Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies, the innovative repair solution that has helped revolutionize the strut replacement category, will be available in 10 additional part numbers in 2009 for light-truck and sport-utility vehicle models from Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, and Toyota. Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies are manufactured and marketed by Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN).

Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies are precisely tuned to the unique ride and handling characteristics of each vehicle model to ensure original equipment-style performance, leveraging parent company Tenneco’s OE expertise. Monroe Quick-Strut assemblies enable technicians to reduce by up to 50 percent the time required for complete strut replacement on many applications. The new Monroe units for light trucks and SUVs will feature application-tuned Monroe Reflex® struts pre-assembled with premium coil springs, robust bearing plate and other high-quality parts designed specifically for the vehicle. Each Monroe Quick-Strut assembly for a rear position on a light truck or SUV will be equipped with a precisely calibrated variable-rate coil spring for increased load-carrying capacity.
